Monina 41 married with a 4-, 12-, 13-, 14- and 16-year-old, the youngest child in the family of 11 siblings. She wants to work in Singapore to support and save up for her family, and she is from Palawan, Philippines.

Experiences

1 year (2003 – 2004) as a helper in Manila Philippines

Monina worked in an apartment with 2-bedrooms and 2-toilets for a family of 3 with a 7- and 75-year-old male, and she looked after their welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, laundry, ironing and folding.

(2005 – 2022)

Stayed home, looked after her family welfare and applied to work in Kuwait.

2 years 2 months (Feb 2022 – Apr 2024) as a helper in Kuwait

Monina worked in a flat with 3-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a family of 5 with a 1-, 5- and 8-year-old, and she looked after their welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, laundry, ironing and folding. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture and experiences.  

(May 2024 – present)

Returns home, looks after her family welfare and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking                   

She cooks Filipino dishes, such as adobo etc., keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children/ infants, and she looks after her own since birth. In her previous experience, she prepared their milk and meals, washed and sterilized feeding bottles, bathed and changed them with fresh clothing and diapers, kept company and soothed them to sleep, dressed and get them ready for school, administered their medications, attended to and assisted in their needs.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Monina is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
