Experiences

2 years 3 months (Jul 2019 – Oct 2021) as a helper in Saudi Arabia

Jebreta worked in a 3-storey house with 7-bedrooms, 8-toilets, a living room, garden and kitchen for an Arabian family of 2. Daily, she cleans and tidy the house, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding, tend to garden and plant watering.

(Nov 2021 – Feb 2022)

Returned home, looked after her family welfare and applied to work in Kuwait.

2 years 6 months (Mar 2022 – Sep 2024) as a helper in Kuwait

Jebreta worked in a 3-storey house with 7-bedrooms, 3-toilets, a living room, garage and kitchen for a Kuwaiti family of 11 with a 3-month-old, and she looked after his welfare, together with an Indonesian driver and Filipina co-helper. Daily, she cleans and tidy the house, marketing, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding, wash and clean the family car, tend to garden and plant watering. In all these, she learned to manage her work well. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture and experiences.

Returns home, looks after her family welfare and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking                   

She cooks Filipino dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes. In her previous experience, she prepared and cooked basic Arabic dishes, such as kabsa etc. 



Childcare

She is keen to look after children/ infants, and she looks after her own since birth. In Kuwait, she prepared his milk and meals, washed and sterilized feeding bottles, bathed and changed with fresh clothing and diapers, administered his vitamins and medications, maintained cleanliness and hygiene, sang lullabies and soothed him to sleep, attended to and assisted in his needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the mobile elderly, and she looked after her 62-year-old grandmother before she passed on. She prepared her meals and fed her, bathed and dressed her with fresh clothing, assisted in her movement, attended to all her needs.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Jebreta is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
