Experiences

3 years (2006 – 2009) as a helper in the Philippines

Vanessa worked in a 2-storey house with 2-bedrooms, a toilets, living room and kitchen for a family of 2 with an 82-year-old bedridden male, a stroke patient, and she looked after his welfare. Daily, she cleans and tidy the house, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding. 

(2010 – 2019)

Stayed home, looked after her family welfare and applied to work in Jordan.

2 years 5 months (May 2019 – Oct 2021) as a helper in Jordan

Vanessa worked in a 4-storey house with 5-bedrooms, 7-toilets, 5-living room, 2-kitchen, garden and garage for an Iraqi family of 3. Daily, she cleans and tidy the house, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding, tend to garden and plant watering, wash and clean the family car.

(Nov 2021 – May 2022)

Returned home, looked after her family welfare and applied to work in Hongkong. 

1 year 8 months (Jun 2022 – Feb 2024) as a helper in Hongkong

Vanessa worked in an apartment with 2-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a Chinese family of 5 with a newborn, and she looked after his welfare. Daily, she does cleans and tidy house, marketing, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding, wash and clean the family car. In all these, she learned to manage her work well. For her future employment, she hopes to widen her experience to be a better helper. 

(Mar 2024 – present)

Returns home, looks after her family welfare and seek new job opportunities. 



Cooking                   

She cooks Filipino dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes. In her previous experience, she prepared and cooked basic Arabic and Chinese dishes, such as biryani, kebab, burik, dim sum, dumplings, steam fish, noodles etc. 



Childcare

She is keen to look after children/ infants, and she looks after her own since birth. In Hongkong, she prepared his milk and fed him, washed and sterilized feeding bottles, bathed and changed him with fresh clothing and diapers, watched over his safety, kept company and soothed him to sleep, accompanied him during night hours, dressed and sent him to-and-fro from school, attended to and assisted in his needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly. In her local experience, she prepared his meals and fed him, bathed and changed him with fresh clothing and diapers, attended to and assisted in his needs.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets and back home, she grooms and feed a local dog, keep clean the pet areas.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.
