Experiences

1 year 5 months (Sep 2017 – Feb 2019) as a helper in Singapore

Marichu worked in a 3-storey landed property with 5-bedrooms, 8-toilets, 3-living room, garage, garden and kitchen for a Chinese family of 5 with a 5-, 9- and 11-year-old, and she looked after their welfare, together with a Filipina co-helper. Daily, she cleans and tidy the house, does ironing and folding, wash and clean the family car, tend to garden and plant watering.

Returned home, looked after her family welfare and applied to work in Singapore.  

5 years 6 months (Jun 2019 – Dec 2024) as a helper in Singapore

Marichu worked in a HDB flat with 3-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room and kitchen for an elderly couple with a 74-year-old male with dementia, and she looked after his welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, marketing, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to widen her experience to be a better helper.

Returns home, looks after her children welfare and seek new job opportunities.  


Cooking                   

She cooks Filipino dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes. In Singapore, she prepared and cooked basic Chinese dishes, such as stir-fried vegetables, steam fish and chicken etc.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children / infants, and she looks after her own since birth. In Singapore, she prepared their meals, dressed and sent them to-and-fro from school, watched over their playing and safety, attended to and assisted in their needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the mobile elderly. In Singapore, she prepared his meals, administered his medications, assisted in his mobility using walking cane and wheelchair, provided massages, accompanied him for doctor’s appointment and outdoor activities, attended to and assisted in his needs.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.
