Florenda 36 married with a 13- and 16-year-old, and the 3rd child in the family of 4 siblings (the youngest is adopted). She wants to work in Singapore to support and save up for her family, and she is from Palawan, Philippines.

2 years (Jul 2016 – Jul 2018) as a helper in Kuwait

Florenda worked in an apartment with 2-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a Kuwaiti family of 4 with a 2-month-old and 2-year-old, and she looked after their welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding.

Returned home, looked after her family welfare and applied to work in Hong Kong.

4 years 1 month (Jan 2019 – Feb 2023) as a helper in Hong Kong

Florenda worked in an apartment with 2-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a Chinese family of 3 with a 6-year-old, and she looked after her welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, marketing, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding.

5 months (Feb 2023 – Jul 2023) as a helper in Hong Kong

Florenda worked in an apartment with 2-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a Chinese family of 4 with an 8- and 12-year-old, and she looked after their welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, marketing, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture and experiences.

(Aug 2023 – present)

Returns home, looks after her family welfare and seek new job opportunities.


Cooking                   

She cooks Filipino dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes. In her previous experience, she prepared and cooked basic Arabic and Chinese dishes, such as biryani, steam pork etc.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children / infants, and she looks after her own since birth. In her previous experience, she prepared their milk and meals, washed and sterilized feeding bottles, bathed and changed them with fresh clothing and diapers, dressed and get them ready for school, accompanied them for school activities, kept company and soothed them to sleep, attended to and assisted in their needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets. While in Hong Kong, she fed a rabbit and turtle, kept clean the pet areas.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Florenda is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
